He hears and sees all!

24th April 2021, ~8:39am

One thing about being a Christian that can be hard – perhaps even disappointing –  is when I have hope and faith that something will go smoothly and the complete opposite happens. I’ll be more specific – you practice day and night for a presentation and it flops, you prep intensely for an interview and you feel like you got ambushed, you sweat day and night and you’re not appreciated. Do you get the picture I’m painting? It can be depressing and quite frankly demoralising.

As I sat up in bed this morning, the spirit of God put Psalm 94 in my head. Before I share the scripture I’ll let you know what happened – I had expectations about a meeting. I went full on Tumi style and prepped, planned, praised Him prior etc. In short, I did my part but the meeting went in a completely different direction. I sat in bed this morning puzzled and I was like “I did my part. What is going on?”. Now let’s hear what the spirit of God had to say:

“Take notice, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise? Does he who fashioned the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see? Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge? The Lord knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile.”

Psalms 94:8-11 (NIV)

What I heard was the part in bold. That scripture basically means GOD sees and hears everything. He’s aware. I know it can be painful to put sweat into something and see it pan out in a way you didn’t desire. I’m sorry that happened but chin up! The most important thing is you went in there with the right heart posture and you did your bit, so LET HIM DO HIS.

Through my waiting period I’ve learnt that GOD has silently been weeding out my impatience and teaching me to trust him. I depend on Him for everything. Even when days don’t look so bright, I’m learning to receive the peace of God. Please note that it is a gift to feel peace in the midst of a storm. It is a profound blessing to have peace in the middle of chaos. Focus on doing your bit and leaving God to finish it. He starts where you end. Whilst he acts, pray for peace of mind.

Anyway, I share this scripture [and message] to say, don’t lose hope and hold on to the word He spoke to you. God is not a man that he should lie. Whenever things you were expectant of crumble before your eyes, relax and remember Psalm 94. He sees. He hears. He knows. Just relax and rest in Him.

Love,

T
